Warehouse Forklift Driver/Laborer
Job Description:
Compensation: $17$20 per hour, plus shift differential.
Shift differential = $3.00 per hour (paid for hours worked between 5:30 PM 5:30 AM)
$1500 sign on bonus! (Paid after 180 days employment)
Shift: 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, some weekends
Warehouse laborer is responsible for loading, unloading, receiving, moving and distributing inventory and assisting customers in loading material and performs any other duties assigned by the warehouse manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Load, unload and receive inventory
- Cycle count inventory and store in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouse
- Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors
- Ensure loads are complete per documentation
- Secure loads in proper fashion to minimize damage and breakage
- Follow all safety guidelines outlined in safety manual
- Work in a team environment
- Other duties as assigned
- Good attendance
Requirements
- Must have experience to operate a stand-up forklift
- Ability to use hand-held scanning unit
- Ability to compute basic math problems
- Ability to work in, and promote, a team environment
- Ability to follow directions well and work independently within a team environment
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to work overtime, nights and/or weekends, as needed
- Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in warehouse environment
- Sufficient literacy to read and understand item code labels
- Forklift certification
- Experience with Good Manufacturing (GMP) and/or Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to regularly push, pull and lift 50lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, reach and move around machinery for long periods of time
- Ability to work in varying working climates, i.e., temperatures may vary from very hot to very cold
