As we continue to expand and evolve, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Operations Officer (COO) to lead our operational strategies, drive growth and efficiencies in our sales, parts, and service departments, achieve our profit and loss budgets, and grow our market share, help build and implement the company’s future strategies, and provide leadership to the operational team.

As the Chief Operations Officer (COO), you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of our operations, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and growth the right way. Reporting directly to the President, you will be responsible for developing and executing operational strategies, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the operational organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, is a creative and critical thinker, has extensive experience in profit and loss management, knows the material handling industry, and has a proven track record of successfully managing operations in a fast-paced and competitive environment.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company’s overall objectives and long-term vision. We are looking for operational excellence and to become the leader in the industry.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations for the sales, parts, and service departments to ensure seamless execution, common procedures, and optimal performance.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Manage the company’s sales, parts, and service department’s profit and loss statements, budgets, and financial forecasts to maximize profitability and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with the Material Handling and Engineered Solutions Leadership Team to identify growth opportunities, expand market presence, and develop strategic partnerships.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, effectiveness, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the organization. Essentially, be a Culture Champion for the company.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders (employees, suppliers, finance partners, customers, community, and ownership) to ensure customer satisfaction and business success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (7-10+ years) in a senior leadership role overseeing operations in a material handling or construction environment.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing operational strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic and creative thinker with a proactive and results-oriented mindset, capable of leading change and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities.
