This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Director Title V Grant Project who will be all-in on our mission and who will manage both fiscal and programmatic reporting for the Grant and establish internal timelines for reports so that administrators and grants/contracts office can review report submissions before they are sent to the funder by the report due date. This position will also oversee the day-to-day operations of the grant personnel by establishing priorities to ensure quarterly and annual objectives are satisfied and remain compliant within all federal and state funding guidelines. After onboarding and training, this position allows for a flexible hybrid schedule, offering the option to work both onsite and remotely.

This is a Grant Funded position. Continued employment is contingent on grant funding.

Requirements

EDUCATION

Required: Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, or related field.

Preferred: Master’s degree in Education, Business, or related field.

EXPERIENCE

Required: Three (3) years of experience in personnel and/or budget management.

Preferred:

  • Experience in project or program evaluation.
  • Federal grant management experience.
JOB DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead recruitment and selection of Grant project staff.
  • Authorize expenditures, maintain budget control and responsibility for appropriate use of grant funds.
  • Supervise/evaluate project staff.
  • Oversee acquisition and use of equipment in pilots.
  • Create reports for U.S. Department of Education and Amarillo College.
  • Collaborate with Financial Aid to oversee payment of students for work-based learning.
  • Implement comprehensive project evaluation.
  • Analyze and evaluate data for reports.
  • Coordinate with project staff and AC faculty/staff to implement project evaluation.
  • Administer all aspects of the grant budget.
  • Process travel, supplies and equipment requisitions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS amp; ABILITIES
  • Ability to remain current regarding Title V and USDE regulations and grant terms.
  • Ability to remain current and display understanding of the needs of high risk, underprepared, and/or minority students.
  • Ability to be flexible with schedule and workload.
  • Knowledge and skilled management of multi-year projects including project evaluation and project closeout.
  • Knowledge of grant development as it relates to current outcomes as these relate to the sustainability of grant objectives.
  • Knowledge of grant funding policies and procedures applicable to federal, state, and college regulations.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and fiscal management principles and procedures.
  • Skill in effective leadership
  • Skill in organizing resources, establishing priorities, and managing time.
  • Skill in use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • Ability to manage funding software, processes, and procedures to meet expenditure and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to remain current on applicable regulations/requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and prepare budgets and financial grant reports.
  • Ability to be discreet with personal information that may be needed for some grants such as student personal information.
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to navigate strategically through project development, project implementation, and project evaluation.
  • Ability to identify risks at the outset of a project and develop proper mitigation plans in the event that the risk does, in fact, occur.

Salary: Amarillo College - Salary Schedules (actx.edu), Pay grade 14 (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).
