Registered Health Information Technician

315 Health amp; Hive is currently seeking a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) to join our team. As an RHIT, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. You will also play a key role in coding and categorizing patient data for healthcare reimbursement purposes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of health information management principles, coding systems, and electronic health record systems.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and complete medical record documentation

• Maintain the confidentiality and security of medical records
• Manage release of information requests from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely coding and documentation
• Stay updated on changes and developments in health information management and coding practices
• Aid in auditing our in house coding department
• Provide training and education to healthcare staff on medical record documentation and coding

Requirements

• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification
• Having a CPC in addition to RHIT is preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in health information management or medical coding
• Strong knowledge of health information management principles and coding systems (ICD-10, CPT)
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems and other health information technology tools
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong ability to work independently with strong decision making skills
