As a technical project manager, you will work closely with the CTO, User Experience and Engineering teams to manage and coordinate software projects, track development status and report project statuses to key stakeholders.
You will be responsible for driving operations within the agency for software engineering based projects. You ensure processes, standards and efficiencies are deployed consistently across teams. You serve both as a direct project manager on key clients and advise and cross train project managers for the operations consistency and scale.
We offer a hybrid and very flexible work environment. Due to the nature of this position, we are looking for Minneapolis based candidates only.
Requirements
What we are looking for in our candidates:
- 3+ years of experience managing software development projects (websites and/or apps)
- Experience with Content Management Platforms is highly desirable (Contentful, Wordpress, Optimizely or similar)
- 2-3+ years experience with Atlassian Jira is highly desirable
- Oversee projects (e.g., software, website, apps) being developed within an organization by managing every aspect of the development and project lifecycle
- Create sprint plans, and project roadmaps
- Problem-solving product plan roadblocks (e.g., time inefficiencies, lack of resources)
- Managing a backlog of product releases/release cycles in partnership with the department managers
- Owns project estimation and collaborates with UX, Engineering and Quality assurance to provide accurate and timely estimates
- Manages department resource management by planning for, analyzing and Identifying resource needs
- Ability to assist in leading and managing external vendor relationships
- Provides cross training with other project managers to ensure consistency in process, tools and lifecycle management
- Lead interdepartmental check-points and integration
- Experienced with client services and negotiating decisions that affect both the clients’ business and your employer’s business
- Contributes to user experience and technical discussions: advises on user experience interactions, best practices. (You draw on your experience and provide a POV at opportune times)
- Ensure quality delivery (on time, on budget, minimizing surprises)
- Extraordinary, proven teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills. Provides client recap notes and streamlines communications across teams
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal, listening and writing skills
- Minneapolis based candidate with the ability to come to our offices or local client offices for occasional meetings.
Background
- 6-8 years experience managing and leading technical/software projects
- Degree in business administration, economics, computer science, or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated ability leading multiple technically diverse projects (apps, websites, ux/design)
Demonstrated Skills
- High degree of expertise and familiarity with project planning software (e.g. Atlassian, MS Project)
- Working knowledge with Git/Github, Slack, Zoom, Google suite and Atlassian suite (or similar tools that serve the same function).
- Working knowledge with HTML and web content management platforms
