Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic-minded Business Intelligence and Data Governance Director to lead our organization's efforts in leveraging data to better our digital transformation journey and ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of our data assets. This role also requires hands-on development/technical skills in order to get answers and learn the details of the data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Business Intelligence (BI): Lead the BI team to design, develop, and maintain data dashboards, reports, and analytics tools to support decision-making across the organization as well as fix data defects
- Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards to maintain data quality and consistency throughout the data ecosystem (Data Warehouse, reporting, MDM, Human in the loop, etc.)
- Data Security: Implement and oversee data security measures, including access controls (who can see what), encryption, and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Data Architecture: Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to design and maintain an effective data architecture that supports data warehousing, ETL processes, and data integration across and within our 3 Business units (Res Sales, Mortgage, and Title)
- Data Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations and industry standards.
- Data Catalog: Implement and maintain a data catalog to provide transparency and accessibility of data assets.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with business units to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that support their objectives.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of BI professionals, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party data vendors and technology providers.
- Data Training: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance data literacy and understanding across the organization.
Requirements
- Strong SQL programming required, IBM Cognos knowledge desired.
- IT/BI project management and business analysis required.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
- 7 years experience in business intelligence, data governance, and data management with large data sets
- 5 years of experience with BI platforms and data analytics technologies and architectures. Data warehousing (On-premise/Cloud), ETL processes, and data architecture.
- 3 years of BI team management experience.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Desired: Real Estate (Residential) Mortgage and or Title data
