Job Description

The Senior Subcontracts Program Manager (SPM) will be responsible for the leadership and management of the suppliers on subcontracted programs from inception through the product lifecycle. This role owns and manages the daily tactical and longer-term strategic aspects of the supplier relationships as the primary point of contact for program suppliers and internal stakeholders. The Senior SPM will manage the activities of suppliers and coordinate with all engineering disciplines and other functional groups in support of internal and customer prime contract flow-down requirements, milestones, and hardware deliveries. The Senior SPM will assist Supply Chain and/or Operations leadership with related strategic projects, reports and daily responsibilities as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the subcontracting effort with suppliers during the implementation of new programs
  • Support all phases of the new program process including sourcing and strategic purchasing activities to align with the program budget and contract requirements
  • Provide guidance on the preparation of SOWs, RFI/P/Qs, should cost estimates, make vs buy decisions, source or down selections, proposal reviews, and compliance matrices
  • Conduct supplier visits and support audits to ensure compliance with program, aerospace, customer, contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Manage supplier NRE budget, capacity vs forecast, risk, costs, schedule and performance
  • Perform risk analysis: identifying risks, potential impacts, mitigation and contingency plans
  • Represent the organization/program at both internal/external status reviews, meetings and coordinate activities with the customer supplier management representatives
  • Manage change coming from the program/customer by analyzing/identifying risks, cost and schedule impacts and coordinating resolution with suppliers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • 9+ years of experience working in supplier or subcontract technical program leadership role in regulated aerospace (with Airbus/Boeing) or defense industry
  • 4+ years of experience with financial budgets/models, and cost/price analysis
  • 3+ years of project management experience (or current PMP certification)
  • Experience with prototyping, design, developing, qualification and production of avionics, IFE or IFC products
  • Working knowledge of DO-160 and DO-254 standards: procedures and testing process
  • Familiarity with customer waterfall, horizon and forecast types of long lead time delivery planning/coordination with suppliers
  • Advanced Excel user with experience in filtering, pivoting, and analysis of raw data
  • Understanding of subcontract contractual language, terms and conditions
  • Experience performing contract, pricing and NRE negotiations

Benefits

The starting pay range for this position is $112,000 to $144,000 however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location.
