We seek an enthusiastic, confident leader to join Verve’s Commissary team in Santa Cruz as the NorCal Commissary Manager. Join us and Live with Verve!


Key Responsibilities

  • Hire, train and lead kitchen staff and operations
  • General food prep for retail ops and grab amp; go program
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of Verve products, principles, and policies
  • Ensure outstanding facility cleanliness and superior product quality
  • Collaborate with Head of Retail and SoCal Commissary Manager on Food and Drink Recipe Development
  • Oversee financial health of the Commissary Kitchen

Specific Duties

  • Develop a motivated team committed to delivering premium products
  • Promote teamwork and robust, positive communication among staff
  • Recruit and interview candidates as needed to maintain a stellar staff
  • Facilitate and execute employee review process
  • Ensure that all employees are trained and performing to VCR standards
  • Create weekly kitchen schedule
  • Follow disciplinary protocol outlined in the VCR Handbook
  • Actively monitor food quality and ensure that Verve standards are being met
  • Proactively manage bottom line by through monitoring food costs and minimizing waste
  • Preform monthly inventory management checks
  • Continuously strive to optimize kitchen execution
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and schedule regular maintenance
  • Keep kitchen immaculately organized and clean at all times
  • Control costs without compromising standards and quality
  • Ensure that kitchen team is fulfilling cafe orders fully and on time
  • Work with the Production department and NorCal Cafe managers to ensure accurate deliveries and help troubleshoot issues.
  • Assist with training retail staff on new seasonal launches
  • Partner with NorCal Regional managers to ensure quality control at the cafe level

Requirements

  • Must love coffee
  • 2 years Pamp;L and management experience required
  • Must have or be able to obtain a manager’s level Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days of hire date.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Ability to model teamwork and lead a team
  • Must be approachable, mindful, and positive
  • Solid management and problem solving skills
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback in any given situation

  • Salary $66,650
