Job Description

The Project Supervisor plans, prioritizes, assigns, supervises, and reviews work for facility maintenance and repairs. In addition, this role performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in various trades such as grounds work, painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, HVAC, and electrical work. Work involves routine duties such as: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, various fixtures, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets, painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, and replacing broken window panes. This is a blue collar position also performing traditional leadership and management duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, and review work for facility maintenance and repairs.
  • Establish schedules and methods for efficient facility maintenance while maintaining costs.
  • Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
  • Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment
  • Inspect, operate, or test equipment to diagnose malfunctions
  • Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges
  • Paint or repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures
  • Inspect buildings following a checklist
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools
    • such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices
  • Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts
  • Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms
  • Maintain inventory of tools and equipment
  • Practice workplace safety
  • Perform other duties, within or outside the assigned area, appropriate for the skills of the employee and the efficient and effective operation of EMI Services

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6+ years experience of operational leadership in an industrial or commercial facilities maintenance environment working with various crafts/trades; DoD facilities maintenance and repair contract experience highly preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Regular, dependable attendance
  • U. S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations
