About the Job

As a Senior Product Manager at Opal, you will play a critical role in translating our business and product strategy into actionable opportunities to serve our customers better. This role will touch multiple existing product areas and contribute towards launching an exciting new product in 2024.

Our team proudly operates within a ShapeUp framework, with highly collaborative, semi-autonomous pods taking carefully shaped pitches from idea to shipped solution in each build cycle. This gives Product Managers more time to focus on strategy and shaping and less task management and agile overhead.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with users to understand their needs and calibrate your instinct.
  • Work with your partners in Commercial and Leadership to gather and synthesize signals from across the business into clear objectives and opportunities.
  • Partner with Design to conduct user research studies to gather insights and inform product decisions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Design to shape pitches that are clear and well-informed, but not prescriptive.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to provide a foundation for decision-making, but also leave breathing room for hypotheses and instinct.
  • Contribute to a variety of forums to support others in the org by representing Product, giving feedback, consulting on ideas and mentoring others with fresh perspectives.
  • Confidently engage with stakeholders to solicit feedback and provide guidance. Objectively weigh options to help others sort through trade-offs and find a path forward.
  • Get hands-on with product features in development and solicit early-stage feedback from users where possible to ensure they will land.
  • Inform GTM strategies and tactics in collaboration with Marketing and Commercial to ensure we achieve the intended success criteria over time.
  • Work closely with Data partners to provide ongoing analysis and guidance to others across the org as it relates to usage, adoption and so on.
  • Must be available to work during standard West Coast standard business hours (8 am - 5 PM PST).

Skills, Experience, Knowledge

  • 5+ years of experience in a product manager role
  • Experience managing enterprise software products
  • Passion for building and shipping great products
  • Strong track record of defining and launching excellent products, ideally targeted to a marketing audience
  • Highly effective communicator, superb listening skills
  • Empathy for customer feedback, while understanding the importance of a long-term product vision
  • Strong commercial skills and ability to participate in business decisions

Education

  • Undergraduate degree or the equivalent related working experience is required.
