Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting for a Scientist Associate in Richland, WA.

This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland, WA, and operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. The Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN), and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg, MD).
The Scientist Associate is responsible for performing a variety of duties, including but not limited to, supporting Analytical Project Managers with planning and coordination of analytical projects, performing assigned phases of a project or program, and assisting with related phases of a project.
Responsibilities:
- Under direct and or limited supervision, accept delegated responsibility for a limited phase of a project or program.
- Identify, collect, and review technical information relevant to the quality of the analytical reports.
- Assist on the evaluation and or review of analytical results using standard techniques and procedures.
- Coordinate and arrange sample shipment and receipt, as needed, and document all activities.
- Prepare analytical reports and data tables for internal and external customers.
- Operate under strict deadlines.Plan, organize, and manage activities in assigned areas to meet Laboratory and client schedules.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Chemistry or other scientific discipline.
- Writing and computer skills: candidate must be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must be able to qualify as radiological worker.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Chemistry or scientific discipline and 2 years directly related experience.
- Knowledge of laboratory analytical methods/techniques.
- Strong skills using Microsoft Office programs (particularly Word and Excel).
- Attention to detail and customer service skills.
Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.

Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40 hours per week)
Grade 14: $71,200 - $89,800
Grade 16: $83,950 - $105,750
The grade level offered to the selected candidate will be based on business needs and the candidate's education, training, and/or relevant experience.
In accordance with the Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc (Navarro) salary determination process, Navarro takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities and the candidate’s education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. A candidate's salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
