Job Description

MISSION:

Execute Email and SMS programs that meet sales and order projections while also devising programs and content that grow our lists and retain customers.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As the Retention Marketing Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the email and SMS schedule, executing campaigns from start to finish, and providing reporting insights from campaign performance that drive future campaign strategy and iterations.

You’ll need a strong foundation in digital marketing tools such as email and SMS marketing platforms and paid media platforms as you will be responsible for building digital marketing campaigns.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES:

  1. Projected sales and order volumes from SMS and Email will be accurate within a 10% range 90% of the time.
  2. Marketing team members will be able to reference schedules and workflow tools for accurate and up-to-date information.
  1. Emails and SMS campaigns will be QA’d to review content and configuration before sending and will go out with accuracy 95% of the time.
  2. Weekly, marketing team members and other stakeholders will be able to reference insights from previous campaign performance for direction on upcoming campaigns.

  • Possesses a strong attention to detail and can differentiate campaigns/tasks that can sometimes have minor but visible name differences.
  • Able to multi-task and consume/react to updates sent through several sources (chat, email, notifications, meeting notes, etc).
  • Is comfortable learning new technology and navigating different user interfaces.
  • Understands the basic set-up needs for email and SMS marketing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

60% of Time:

  • Identify, build, execute, optimize, and measure both email campaigns and email automation flows including copy, creative, send strategy and list targeting according to set marketing deadlines can campaign dates.
  • Build, execute, optimize, and measure both SMS campaigns and SMS automation journeys including copy, send strategy and list segmentation/targeting.
  • Build audiences and customer segmentation, deliver deep insights through data analysis and behavioral retargeting, and track email list quality and health
  • Maintain a healthy communication content schedule that is both engaging and effective
  • Actively participate in team chats, emails, documents, and meetings to obtain status updates and schedule changes.
  • Develop high-impact A/B testing (layout, format, frequency, control, and copy) to improve email performance and continually improve performance
  • QA emails and SMS messages for accuracy before deployment.
  • Complete all schedule and task updates for the marketing calendar on time.

30% of Time:

  • Compile and present weekly insights reports of the previous week’s campaign performance and suggest improvements
  • Report on KPIs from SMS amp; email marketing campaigns
  • Report on Churn and Retention KPI’s for our active customer base
  • Assist in marketing campaign email and/or SMS metric reporting to measure campaign success.
  • Work on strategies with stakeholders to minimize unsubscribes on the SMS and Email Lists.
  • Review retention and churn data to identify positive and negative trends and work to minimize churn and improve retention of customers.

10% of Time:

  • Proactively update team members when there are schedule issues that need to be escalated for prioritization.
  • Create and maintain documentation for new and existing Email and SMS programs including technical specifications and campaign details.
  • Collaborate with teams within and outside the marketing department to deliver valuable content (for example the website team to ensure a cohesive customer experience across their journey)
  • Ensure emails follow industry policies and best practices
  • Stay up to date on Industry Trends, and new technology and recommend applicable modernizations to our marketing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or any related field
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in marketing, or communication
  • Excellent knowledge of marketing techniques and databases
  • Understanding of advanced marketing principles
  • Working knowledge of CRM tools
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under strict deadlines
  • Experience working in an Email Marketing Platform, SMS Marketing Platform
  • Basic HTML Skills
