WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a member of the Platform Infrastructure team, this student will work as an individual contributor

focused on cloud infrastructure systems and applications. A successful candidate will have a desire to

learn more about running and deploying applications on public clouds in a secure, automated and

efficient manner. This person will have an opportunity to interact with a variety of teams spanning

enterprise IT, product engineering, data analytics and more. The fast pace of change in Cloud

technologies requires this person to be innately curious, quick to learn, devoted to best practices, and

results-driven.

Within this role you will learn about:

• Agile amp; DevOps processes

• Building systems and applications in AWS, Azure or Google Cloud

• Running a modern cloud environment at scale across several products and business areas

• Secure infrastructure frameworks and cloud security best practices

• Applying automation to all aspects of technical operations

• Analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities

• Communicating at all levels of the entire organization and with customers

• Writing technical documentation

• Prioritization and time management in an enterprise setting

You may have experience in:

• Programming (Python, Golang, React)

• Standing up or deploying basic cloud computing services or platforms for hosting applications

• Creating some basic tools, scripting or pipelines to automate portions of an application lifecycle

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Cloud Infrastructure teams uses, interacts or needs to understand these technologies and concepts:

• All facets of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• HashiCorp (Packer, Terraform, Vault)

• Automation scripting and tooling (Ansible, Bash, Python, Powershell)

• Docker amp; Kubernetes

• Source code control (GitHub, Azure DevOps)

• DevOps processes and tooling (GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy)

• Monitoring amp; Incident Management (DataDog, PagerDuty, ServiceNow)

• Creating redundancy, failover, backup and disaster recovery plans and tools

• Identity providers (AzureAD amp; Okta)

The Cloud Infrastructure teams works with these business units at Bain:

• Enterprise IT (TSG)

• Data Analytics (AAG)

• Product Engineering (NextGen Software Solutions and Global Engineering)

• Consulting Practice Areas (Private Equity, Merger amp; Acquisition and more)

INTERNSHIP SCHEDULE amp; DURATION

• 40 hours/week, 9am - 5pm EST flexible upon agreement with your manager

• July - December 2024 6-month internship expected; start and end dates determined upon offer
