About the Role:

Our Beacon application is an internally built platform for Claims and Service reps to drive digital communications with our customers in their channel of choice, including text and chat. Customer inquiries and claims serviced on these channels can often be resolved faster, promote self-service, and help reps focus on the more complex inquiries. Our goal this year is to improve the seamless flow of customers across service channels. The tech roadmap for this includes expanding our application to converge SMS and chat flows, introducing and improving automation, and making customer interactions available to other applications.

The intern will assist engineers in sprint work and will work on a small, time-boxed project based on where we are in our roadmap, helping to drive work forward and deliver business value. The intern will be greatly supported by a tech lead on the team.

This team uses a mix of technologies and tools: AWS, node, typescript, javascript, react, MongoAtlas, Dynamo DB.

*Please note that you are not expected to know all these technologies. We offer self-paced and on-the-job training opportunities as part of our onboarding process.

  • You have a general knowledge of design and development tools
  • You’re fluent with at least one or more object-oriented software development languages
