Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Hardware Engineer who can lead projects developed according to RTCA DO-254 standards. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in the Planning, Development, and Verification/Testing processes outlined in DO-254. The role involves working independently, advising both our customers and internal teams based on their extensive experience ensuring airborne electronic hardware meets the necessary safety standards, all in support of our mission to make complex aerospace and defense product lifecycles elegantly simple, bending the industry cost curve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead hardware projects, ensuring compliance with RTCA DO-254 standards throughout the Planning, Development, and Verification/Testing phases.
- Independent Work: Demonstrate the ability to work independently, taking ownership of projects and driving them to successful completion.
- Customer Advisement: Act as a key advisor to customers, providing insights and guidance based on deep knowledge of DO-254 standards.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless integration of DO-254 compliance into hardware development processes.
- Supplier Evaluation: Possess the capability to assist in evaluating supplier compliance to RTCA DO-254 standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in DO-254 compliance, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.
Requirements
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (10+ years) in leading hardware projects with a focus on RTCA DO-254 compliance.
- In-depth understanding of the Planning, Development, and Verification/Testing processes outlined in RTCA DO-254.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively advise customers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in evaluating supplier compliance to DO-254 standards.

For this position, Collinear offers a salary range of $144,000 to $165,000 (DOE and location) with bonus and profit sharing programs, health insurance, HSA contributions, a 401(k) program with company contributions, nine paid holidays, 15 days of PTO accrued per year, non-prescribed amount of sick leave, flexible schedules and remote working capabilities, and multiple company-sponsored employee events - all in support of creating an employee-focused company.
