Athena is looking for a Senior Designer / Associate Creative Director to join our Creative Agency. We are looking for someone who can work on multiple creative projects simultaneously, and who is proficient in all major design and presentation platforms. We are looking for someone who is hungry to show off their design and branding talents, who is not afraid of hard work, who is eager to learn and grow and be a part of a high-performance team, who is professional in demeanor and who desires to be client-facing. The design team produces thoughtful and elevated creative designs. We create compelling graphics for different mediums that include but are not limited to the corporate website, branding, reports and fact sheets, press materials, presentations, and social media assets. Our work has a digital focus, but print projects are a part of the mix.
This role is versatile and collaborates with designers and copywriters. We operate in a fast pace, hands-on environment and thrive on collaboration.
Requirements
Specific project responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall visual aspects of a campaign and will coordinate the work of other artistic or design staff.
- Has the ability to be future thinking and strategic.
- Has an energetic and optimistic attitude and cares about creating powerful work.
- Has a self-motivated, proactive, strategic mentality.
- Combines campaign concepts and high-level visual design.
- Has hands-on proficiency in the formal elements of design, including typography, layout, balance, proportion, rhythm, emphasis, and unity.
- Skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud software (i.e., InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Delivers conceptual, platform-driven work with superior design in a broad range of media. Especially film, video, animation, and social.
- Designs comps, storyboards, initial graphic concepts, and final deliverables.
- Collaborates with Copywriters to ensure that both the copy and the visuals work in unison to make the creative as powerful and captivating as possible.
The skills and experience you should have:
- Previous agency experience, ideally supporting a corporate brand.
- Experience in Social Purpose and/or Innovation / Tech storytelling and brand work.
- Experience with animation and 3D software is a plus.
- Experience working as part of an Art Director / Copywriter team.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, personal organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Solid organization and time management skills.
- Desire to work in a fast paced, innovative, and collaborative environment.
It's a plus if you have:
- 7+ years experience in a creative role with 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role.
- Bachelor's degree in design, advertising, or a related field.
- A strong portfolio that showcases a range of creative work, including visual design and copywriting.
