A little about the role

As the Manager of Finance and Accounting, this person will be the financial lead of the Business Unit, acting as the General Manager’s FPamp;A expert and financial consultant. This person will also manage the accounting operation team for the Business Unit which will include financial reports, financial management, forecasting and budgeting. This position is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the ChildPlus accounting department which includes managing a team responsible for accounting for customer contract renewals, new sales and invoicing training using HubSpot and NetSuite. An ability to understand and forecast recurring revenue is critical to the role in support of the division’s growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Forecast and Budget revenue for a $30m division of the Finance amp; Accounting department
  • Analyze customer profitability
  • Drive process improvements related to invoicing customers and improving the renewal process
  • Act as a financial consultant to the GM of the division offering advice and analysis as it relates to the business
  • Oversee and manage a team responsible for the operations of the ChildPlus accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
  • Oversee and manage a team responsible for the ChildPlus accounting operations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures
  • Ensure that ChildPlus’ accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
  • Ensure that ChildPlus’ accounts receivable are collected promptly
  • Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Issue timely and complete financial statements
  • Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
  • Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics, especially SaaS based financial metrics like gross and net retention
  • Provide financial analyses as needed, for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit

Requirements

Our Ideal Candidate Have

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, business administration, or equivalent business experience
  • 5+ years’ of progressive experience for a company or division of a larger corporation
  • High organization skills and detail oriented
  • Consistent accuracy and thoroughness
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong leadership skills ability to successfully manage a Finance and Accounting team
  • Understanding and ability to work within Business Unit CRM (HubSpot) and Parent company accounting ERP system (NetSuite) to support the Business Unit and Parent company’s future growth
  • Assist the GM in preparing annual forecasts, annual budgets, and operating plans
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in a professional and concise manner
  • An understanding of SaaS business model and recurring revenue
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations and other relevant certifications
