Job Description

The Senior Accountant will work as a member of the Finance and Accounting team. In this capacity, the senior accountant will partner with the Corporate Controller as well as other finance team members across Shepard to provide accounting and finance support as necessary.

Essential Job Duties

  • Prepare and post journal entries during month-end closing for multiple entities while adhering to deadlines
  • Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations and analysis
  • Reconcile and eliminate intercompany accounts during the monthly consolidation
  • Reconcile prepaid, accruals, loan interest/principal payments, deferred rent, bad debt provisions
  • Prepare documents for audits
  • Work with the Controller to improve financial processes
  • Assist with Cash Flow calculations and projections along with wire and ACH payments
  • Budget/Forecast Assistance
  • Assist Controller with financial statement preparation
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum +5 years of professional accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality
  • Familiarity with accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced Excel skills including vlookup, if statements, and pivot tables
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills with a customer focus
  • Willingness to work independently within a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required
  • Able to work under time constraints and ensure deadlines are met
  • Possess exceptional attention to detail and have strong follow-up skills
