POSITION OVERVIEW

Kate Farms is looking for a Help Desk Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This is a hybrid position, working remotely most days. The Help Desk Engineer will provide technical support to end users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, resolve network problems, and ensure the smooth operation of computer systems. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, and an established working knowledge of Help Desk Support.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical support to end users through phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, perform diagnostics and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of computer systems, including network connectivity and printing.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade software and hardware components.
  • Set up and maintain user accounts, security groups, and access rights.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and respond to system alerts and notifications.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate IT personnel.
  • Document technical issues and resolutions for future reference.
  • Provide training and guidance to end users on using computer systems and software.
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment and software.
  • Participate in on-call support rotations to provide after-hours support.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of Help Desk related experience.
  • Proven experience as a Help Desk Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are a plus.
