  • $15.00 - $16.50 per hour
Expected Hours Per Week
  • Seasonal through April 15, 2024
  • Part Time, Full Time availability
  • 6:30pm - 10:00pm (Available Monday Sunday)
  • 6:30pm - 11:15pm (Available Monday Sunday)
  • 11:00pm - 7:00am (Available Monday Sunday)
  • Holidays required

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for Attendants for our Warming Station and will assist in oversight of the operation of our warming station, a wintry weather emergency shelter for our homeless neighbors.

A Day in the Life as an Attendant

As an Attendant for the Warming Station, you will help the GVYMCA achieve its goals to ensure our Warming Station is problem-free and safe so that employees can work, and guests can use our facilities under the best conditions. You will be responsible for maintaining the safety of all in the program while ensuring all procedures and policies are being met.

Responsibilities as an Attendant
  • Provides building security walk through at start and/or end of shift.
  • Provides supervision to participants utilizing the warming station during operational hours.
  • Assists with intake/outtake of guests.
  • Assists in the delivery of all meals provided through the YMCA food program, snacks, dinner, coffee.
  • Assists in the supervision of guest showers.
  • Responsible for upkeep of daily laundering of towels, sheets, blankets, and necessary program supplies.
  • Assists in the restocking of supplies for daily program needs: laundry, food, beverage.
  • Administers nightly smoking breaks.
  • Ensures program compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Ensures safety and security of facilities and guests.
  • Implements Warming Station rules and guest restrictions.
  • Ensures station is clean and manages custodial duties as appropriate.
  • Remains awake during overnight hours of position to ensure supervision of guests.
  • Provides fellowship and interaction with guests.
  • Snow removal may be required, as necessary.
  • Fills in of normal work schedule as needed.
  • Must plan to report to scheduled shift regardless of weather conditions.
  • Assists in the completion of intake paperwork.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and in accordance with the Chart of Work.
