Job Description

CTI is seeking a detail-oriented Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team.

CTI (Chesapeake Technology International) is a leading software, systems, and operational support corporation specializing in developing user-focused technologies for military and security applications. As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer at CTI, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities of a Software Quality Assurance Engineer at CTI include:

  • Creating comprehensive test plans to guide the testing process and ensure thorough coverage.
  • Documenting detailed test cases to provide clarity and guidance for testing activities.
  • Developing testing routines or procedures to streamline the testing process.
  • Prioritizing and planning testing activities to optimize efficiency.
  • Conducting both manual and automated testing to cover a wide range of scenarios.
  • Testing software performance to guarantee optimal functionality.
  • Identifying software bugs through meticulous testing and reporting.
  • Collecting and analyzing testing data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Compiling technical information or documentation related to quality assurance.
  • Coordinating user or third-party testing efforts to enhance overall test coverage.
  • Developing detailed project plans to guide the testing process.
  • Identifying flaws in software design or functionality.

This is a remote position with travel requirement as needed to various customer sites.

Requirements

Necessary skills and experience for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field or 1-2 years of hands-on experience in manual software testing.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in testing desktop applications in a wide range of operating systems and technical specifications.
  • Proven experience in software quality assurance, including test planning, test case development, and test execution
  • Experience with both manual and automated testing
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Experience utilizing testing tools and frameworks
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • The ability to obtain a US security clearance post start date. U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Beneficial skills and experience:

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Knowledge of software development processes and best practices
  • Experience with version control systems and bug tracking tools
  • Experience in the military or defense industry
  • Familiarity with C4ISR systems and technologies
  • Experience with automated testing such as Desktop applications, Android, or web.
  • Familiarity with testing tools and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) is also very favorable.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
