Job Description

The Director of Instruction ensures the delivery of high-quality, impactful educational experiences. This position is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our STEM and PBL curriculum and professional development programs and ensuring instructional excellence across our offerings.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development and Management:
  • Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of our STEM and PBL curriculum, alignment with educational standards and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, educators, and industry professionals to ensure curriculum relevance and engagement.
  • Professional Development (PD):
  • Develop and implement comprehensive PD programs that empower educators to effectively deliver our STEM and PBL curriculum using innovative pedagogical strategies.
  • Nurture a community of practice among educators to promote collaboration and shared learning.
  • Instructional Leadership:
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of our programs in various educational settings, ensuring high standards of instructional quality and fidelity to our pedagogical approach.
  • Stay abreast of educational trends and research in STEM and PBL education, integrating best practices to enhance our programs.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and access in education and in our product.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Work closely with school districts, educational leaders, and community partners to support and advance the implementation of our programs and advocate for STEM and PBL education.
  • Engage in thought leadership within and outside the organization, representing our mission and achievements in various forums.
  • Collaboration Within Product amp; Academic Leadership Team:
  • Collaborate with the appropriate Product amp; Academics leader to incorporate the latest educational research and innovative technologies into curriculum and professional development offerings.
  • Partner with the Product team leader to ensure instructional content is aligned with product features and market needs, ensuring a cohesive product strategy.
  • Partner with the appropriate team leader to integrate digital instructional assets into the curriculum, enhancing our diverse student body's synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.

Education and Experience Needed

  • Master’s degree in Education, STEM fields, or a related discipline required, PhD preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in K12 STEM/PBL education, including significant leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, educator professional development, and instructional leadership.
  • Experience working with and a strong understanding of current trends and best practices in STEM/PBL education and technology integration.
  • Demonstration of communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team.
