This Data Manager (Wells) role provides the opportunity for someone with strong data and digital skills combined with oil and gas experience to assist our client in creating quality EDM data records that support improved decision making. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the power of data to inform critical business decisions and energized by the opportunity to improve data quality and simplify existing processes.

Role Overview

A Data Manager with experience working with Wells data is required to improve the user confidence when interacting with Wells Engineering data. This will involve improving data stewardship, data completeness, data quality and data management practices. Specific activities will include:

  • Act as a technical expert in the Landmark EDM data management and workflows, working with data managers to continuously improve the quality of data management work.
  • Evaluate the operational well data and resolve quality issues.
  • Automate the data management activities including data QC, data quality and data clean-up.
  • Collaborate with others to enhance integration of well data with other applications.
  • Work with the end users to enhance their effectiveness in working with the data and the data workflows.
  • Prepare, refine and implement good data standards and practices.

Requirements

Required Skills

  • Experience with Well Planning and Well Operations including knowledge of how data is generated, manipulated and used.
  • Data management expertise in Landmark EDM
  • Data Analysis and manipulation capabilities to identify, QC, compare and clean data.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with end users to help build data awareness and efficiency.
  • Passion for improvement of existing processes to enhance safety, quality and performance.
  • Understanding of Data Management practices, standards and governance
  • Proficiency with Power BI, Power Automate, and SQL
  • Experience working in a team that uses Agile approaches: Kanban, Scrum, etc.

Desired Skills

  • Deep Data Management experience related to data standards, data schemas, and data quality.
  • Understanding of data ingestion practices and the ability to communicate with Data Engineers and Architects.
  • Familiarity with API design and development.
  • Proficient in writing Python scripts.
  • Excellent documentation and presentation skills.
  • Track record of good data security and data governance practices.
  • Awareness of OSDU and Energistics would be helpful.

Qualifications

  • BS in a Technical Discipline, e.g. Engineering, Geoscience, Computer Science, Software engineering, or related field.
