Job Description

This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Associate Vice President of Curriculum, Planning, amp; Institutional Effectiveness who will be all-in on our mission and who will assist in matters related to academic policies, programs, and academic issues. The Associate Vice President works to strengthen the Office of Academic Affairs in delivering high quality programs and learning experiences for the students of Amarillo College. This position will also assist the Vice President of Academic Affairs with executing strategic plan initiatives for Academic Affairs, including (but not limited to) SACSCOC compliance, managing Curriculum Committee, maintaining and updating divisional manuals and procedures, supervising programs, and faculty workload.

Requirements

EDUCATION

Required: Master's Degree from an accredited College or University.

EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Three (3) years of professional-related experience and four (4) years of experience working with institutional effectiveness and institutional research.

Preferred:

  • Community College academic administrative leadership and teaching experience.
  • Experience with assessment tracking software.
  • Experience working with grants management or grants compliance.

JOB DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise all assigned areas and programs (e.g. Institutional Effectiveness, Personal Enrichment/Continuing Education, Hereford Campus, Moore County Campus, Lab School, and Hagy Childcare Center).
  • Assist the VPAA in approving the Faculty Workload Assignment process.
  • Maintain and Update the Academic Affairs Manual.
  • Maintain and Update the Faculty Credentialing Manual.
  • Assist in executing strategic plan initiatives for Academic Affairs.
  • Assist VPAA in supervising and providing administrative leadership for all academic and career-technical divisions.
  • Assist VPAA in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of academic instruction at the College.
  • Assist VPAA in providing leadership in developing and allocating resources to support the Amarillo College Strategic Plan.
  • Assist VPAA in providing leadership in developing academic policies, new program development, revision of instructional program curricula, and student success.
  • Assist VPAA in preparing and managing budgets within areas of responsibility.
  • Serve as the SACSCOC Accreditation Liaison and compliance lead to include faculty standards.
  • Ensure that the College’s multiple approaches for Institutional Effectiveness are fulfilled.
  • Lead the College’s accreditation and compliance efforts to include guidance to College personnel, ongoing evidence gathering, development, and writing of substantive change prospectuses, notifications, and compliance certification reports.
  • Manage and maintain all documentation and timely renewals for the College’s IRB (Institutional Review Board) compliance.
  • Provide oversight, review, and editing to academic leaders for programmatic accreditation reporting and self-studies.
  • Oversee the College’s program and course inventories with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
  • Oversee the College’s annual catalog publication.
  • Manage college-wide efforts for assessment of student learning and service outcomes, program outcomes, and integration of budgeting and planning.
  • Develop and validate data for general education outcomes assessment, program student learning outcomes assessment, and program review.
  • Conduct internal audits for compliance and strategic planning of grants within the Academic Affairs Division.
  • Conduct meetings with grant directors at regular intervals within the Academic Affairs Division to ascertain the overall progress and sustainability of each grant.
  • Prepare annual grant report card for the Vice President of Academic Affairs showing the overall progress on grant deliverables, financial effectiveness, and renewal status.
  • Serve as liaison between Project Directors of Grants in the Academic Affairs Division and the Grants Compliance Office.
  • Oversee administration of Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE) Surveys as multiple measures for validating student learning/service outcomes.
  • Perform data reduction, statistical analysis of data, and interpretation of results.
