As an OR Orderly, you would be crucial to our mission because you would be responsible for assisting with patients and keeping the operating rooms and surgery center clean, organize, and stocked. What would you do as an Operating Room Orderly?

This position focuses its time and effort on the following duties, though others may be required:

  • Assist in transferring patients from bed to stretcher, stretcher to OR table, etc.
  • Assist with Operating Room turnovers including sweeping, mopping, dusting, disinfecting and gathering linens and other surgical equipment;
  • Scrub into total joint surgeries and hold limbs as needed;
  • Ensure OR is properly stocked with materials and equipment;
  • Ensure equipment rooms are organized and stocked;
  • Assist central sterile processing

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have the following minimum qualifications:

Education/Certifications

  • High School Diploma/GED.

Preferred Qualifications - How can you set yourself apart from other applicants?

If you have these preferred qualifications, you would be an ideal candidate, though they aren’t necessary to be successful:

  • Experience working as a Nursing Assistant or Orderly;
  • Interest in learning and growing in the medical field.


Work Environment

This position operates in a clinical environment.

Physical: The noise level is usually moderate. Exposure to communicable diseases, biohazards, toxic substances, and similar conditions is possible. Must be able to transport patients by pushing stretchers and assist in the transfer of patients from bed to stretcher.

*Note: This position is required to obtain a Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
