Job Description
We are looking for a versatile battery lab manager, preferably familiar with Microsoft systems and processes, to manage a variety of tasks within abattery test lab. This resource should have extensive lab management experience and should also be able to execute battery testing under engineering direction when required. Experience dealing with a battery test environment is desired, as is IT experience.
This position is within a highly skilled team of battery engineers working on products at the leading edge of battery design. The ability to communicate well with other team members and pitch in to support overall team goals is crucial.
Distribute, track, and support pre-production batteries as they arrive from manufacturing and are tested in development labs.
Work within the MS shipping and receiving environment to ship and procure equipment.
Facilitate material transfers between outside equipment vendors and other internal facilities.
Keep a complex set of pre-production batteries inventoried and organized within the test lab.
Build amp; Support data management and organization through software tools
Create amp; maintain lab accreditation processes
Supervise technician and operator work/activities
· Experience working with facilities departments. Experience with MS Facilities and REamp;F specifically a big plus.
· Maintain a clean, neat, and safe lab environment.
· Highly developed organizational and communication skills are critical.
· Perform IT functions, such as ordering and setting up new test computers. Interface with MS IT department. Advanced IT skills desired.
Qualifications:
AA in Electronics or better.
3-5+ years managing test laboratory
2+ years' experience with IT and/or LIMS tools
Experience Managing Engineering Technicians
Basic soldering, tool use, and general tech skills.
Ability to work in a lab environment and lift up to 25 lbs.
Excellent time and task management skills.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Safety mindset with attention to detail.
Excellent troubleshooting/debug skills.
Ability to read, understand, and follow written technical procedures.
Ability to work independently and as a team while coordinating multiple work flows.
The ability to read and understand schematic diagrams and datasheets for electrical and mechanical specifications.
Experience with hardware prototype bring-up, debugging, fault detection, and failure analysis.
Proficient use of electronic test equipment (DVM, oscilloscopes, power supplies, programmable electronic loads)
Mechanical aptitude and ability to read mechanical drawings
