Job Description

We are seeking committed and passionate Recreation Specialists to lead academic, physical, and enrichment activities as part of our After School Programs. As a Recreation Specialist you will lead and mentor up to 20 youth in an afterschool setting. Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) promotes the healthy development of individuals, families and communities through direct services, volunteerism and partnerships in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Job Title: Expanded Learning Recreation Specialist

Requirements

  • No experience required
  • Ability to reliably commute to Concord, Bay Point and/or Martinez
  • Commitment to social justice and leadership
  • Passionate about learning and youth development
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Preferred: Commitment to a full school year, able to practice open, clear and consistent communication, commitment to participate in professional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain emotional and safe environment
  • Executing lesson plans that support school day learning
  • Ability to collaborate with youth to support their learning and development (youth driven curriculum)
  • Ability to model BACR Best Practices
