What would you do as a Imaging Aide?

The Imaging Aide is responsible for assisting patients through the radiology process in a manner that places emphasis on quality patient care. You can expect to regularly:

  • Greet and escort patients within the imaging department or from the physician station if needed for another x-ray;
  • Enter and/or verify patients’ demographics and history of exams ordered into databases and electronic medical records;
  • Ensure patients are ready for imaging exams including proper attire;
  • Remove a splint or cast from a patient if needed;
  • Communicate with patients and family regarding wait times and frequently check on the comfort of patients;
  • Use electronic medical records and imaging systems, paying close attention to exam details;
  • Prepare radiology department daily including cleaning, stocking, and sanitizing work areas and equipment;
  • Stock imaging rooms daily;
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality to ensure imaging department patient schedules are achieved;
  • Communicate and perform as a team with your technician(s) to ensure quality patient care;
  • Provide customer service, maintain confidentiality, and abide by HIPAA requirements.

Requirements

  • Certifications/Education
  • High School Diploma/GED;
  • Knowledge of
  • Customer Service principles and practices;
  • Experience;
  • Using computer systems and applications, including entering data and typing;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a related position within a hospital or clinic setting.
  • This position operates in a clinical office environment.
  • Physical: The noise level is usually moderate.
  • Schedule: Saturday hours may be required depending on managerial discretion.
