Job Description

A CG Life Associate Account Director is an established strategic advisor with 8 years of marketing or agency experience. They are engrained in the science and healthcare industry and have a genuine interest in seeing it evolve. They have excellent communication and negotiation skills, allowing them to resolve demanding challenges internally and externally with pose and grace.

Business Impact:

  • Builds on prior experiences to exercise judgment across multiple accounts and scenarios in order to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Able to formally manage highly complex projects, by prioritizing client needs, and pivoting as needed to meet aggressive deadlines and milestones.
  • Collaborate with department heads to allocate resources and investments as needed when faced with bandwidth constraints and project overages to ensure agency profitability.
  • Responsible for forecasts, revenue growth and margin in collaboration with PMs for owned accounts.
  • Begins to display business acumen to apply knowledge beyond current client-base or vertical.
  • Understands major strategies driving the organization and how day-to-day tasks relate to them. Works to support overall strategies with realistic steps, and understands how to control costs.

Industry Expertise:

  • Deep understanding and expertise in the life science and healthcare industry; years of experience will encourage the ability to work across and beyond functional area of expertise; varying category experience and multi-channel experience, preferred.
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Guides client planning and forward-thinking via established industry knowledge, including but not limited to general business trends, holistic marketing activities, and industry-specific opportunities.
  • Initiate brainstorms with Strategy, Creative and other teams to develop creative briefs with high-impact solutions and recommendations that align with client business goals.
  • Ensures that all work leaving the agency delivers on the expectations outlined in the creative brief and is of the highest quality based on client inputs and market assessment.
  • Dedicated to self-development and seizes on-the-job opportunities to enrich skills and learn new information about their profession on a regular basis.

Leadership:

  • Manages and oversees activities from project kickoff through job completion to ensure project is executed to brief and within estimated parameters.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts on the creation of strong, focused creative and strategy briefs; when applicable, mentoring and guiding junior team members to do so.
  • Consistently demonstrates good decision-making qualities: others frequently seek out their opinion. Methodical when addressing a situation and uses facts to form an accurate and complete analysis of information, known data, and politics.
  • Owns senior-level client relationships and probe on organic growth opportunities within current accounts.
  • Master presentation skills for current project work and new business capabilities.
  • Leads by example: communicating the organization's cultural expectations with authority, giving employees advice on how to meet higher standards of professionalism, and supporting fluctuating demands within the team.
  • Delegates and assigns responsibilities to others in a clear manner, establishing quantitative measurements and methods to monitor progress. Provides regular feedback and has a system to collect information about outcomes in an objective manner.
  • Empowers others and supports them enthusiastically, reinforcing positive attributes and promoting confidence.

  • Able to interact with staff/colleagues of varying levels.
  • Demonstrated success at working with cross-functional teams and building strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Able to identify and resolve issues, in a demanding and stressful environment.
