Staff Accountant- Idaho Falls, ID Competitive Salary and Employer Paid Insurance!
EMI Services is looking for a Staff Accountant who will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Salary$60,000 to $70,000 (DOE) plus employer paid insurance
Responsibilities- Perform general cost accounting and other related duties
- Maintain the general ledger
- Analyze budgets and create expense reports
- Examine tax policies and handle tax payments and returns
- Code invoices, sets up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books
- Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
- Coordinate with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommend updates to enhance the accounting software
- Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assist with monthly close processes
- Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with audits
- Manage the purchasing and invoicing system
- Meet processing and reporting deadlines
- Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
- Ensure compliance with GAAP
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Essential Skills
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
- Ability to correctly prepare tax reports
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- Good problem-solving and time management skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Confidentiality and integrity
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field and 3+ years of related experience OR
- 10+ years of related experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Pass pre-employment drug test and background check
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
