The People Operations Generalist is part of the human resources team and provides a variety of support to recruit and retain the talent of the Company. Serving as a primary point of contact for employees, the People Operations Generalist provides process and procedure guidance and troubleshoots routine issues. This position will specialize in onboarding, offboarding, benefits, leave administration, compensation, and recognition to support a highly engaged workforce, while staying in compliance with all laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with all aspects of the employee experience including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, employee recognition, compensation, leave administration, employee engagement through offboarding.
  • Coordinates and helps execute the Company’s employee recognition program.
  • Assists with ensuring data integrity, efficiencies and improvements in the HRIS system.
  • Assist with the administration of leaves including FMLA, ADA and workplace accommodation requests through completion.
  • Assists with the workforce planning of the Company including the creation and maintenance of job descriptions and salary bands.
  • Assists with compliance with all federal, state and local laws including compliance with affirmative action plans.
  • Ensures an effective onboarding process including execution of new hire orientation, new hire kits and providing support to new hires all the way through an employee’s orientation period for success, as needed.
  • Knowledgeable to answer questions related to company policies, procedures and the Employee Handbook.
  • Ensures company policy and procedures are followed, company property is returned, and administers an effective offboarding experience.
  • Responds to routine employee inquiries regarding benefits, timekeeping, and accessing company-specific resources.
  • Serves as a first point of contact for employee relations issues, performing intake and escalating issues where necessary.
  • Assists with benefits including responding to employee inquires and processing employee Evidence of Insurability (EOI) and Qualifying Life Event (QLE) requests.
  • Responds to Verification of Employment (VOE) requests, partnering with Payroll where necessary.
  • Supports other members of the department in various projects and initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an HR/People Ops department in a HR Generalist role.
  • 2 years of experience in leave administration, compensation, and/or benefits preferred.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM- CP/SP preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
  • Excellent attention to detail, written and verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience navigating, making changes and working within an HRIS system.
  • Experience with MS Word, Powerpoint and MS Excel.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality as required by the role.
