POSITION SUMMARY

Heritage Werks is seeking a Managing Director of Creative Services to join their growing team! Reporting to the Vice President of Content amp; Creative, the Managing Director leads the creative team and is responsible for the overall development and delivery of storytelling and creative services for Heritage Werks’ clients.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate expertise in aligning client strategy with compelling creative content, possess a passion for storytelling, exhibit a high-level of business acumen, and bring a strong project management background to the role. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.

RESPONSIBILITIES

TEAM MANAGEMENT amp; LEADERSHIP

  • Responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, and developing Creative Services team members.
  • Provide recommendations for the Creative Services Department structure, including envisioning and defining new roles, to support the growth and advancement of the Camp;C division.
  • Identify, vet, and select new creative partners and freelancers, working with necessary stakeholders to ensure budgets and contracts are set up and managed appropriately.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Content amp; Creative and the Managing Director of Content to establish and manage goals and priorities for the Content amp; Creative Division.
  • Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to initiatives to assist in shaping company’s goals and priorities in collaboration with other department heads, VPs, and c-suite members.
  • Assist with special projects and perform all other responsibilities, as assigned.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT amp; SERVICE DELIVERY

  • Provide creative direction and oversight including advising clients on best practices, directing internal team members, and engaging external creative partners.
  • Oversee execution of deliverables led by Creative Services including websites, virtual vaults, videos, podcasts, exhibits, virtual tours, interactive events, location-based experiences, digital archives, books, and other publications.
  • Ensure Creative Services projects are delivered on time and on budget by managing the team’s schedule and workflow, maintaining awareness of deadlines and dependencies, optimizing utilization levels, and monitoring hours and resources spent on engagements.
  • Support project management for entire Content amp; Creative Division through PM tool, ClickUp.

CLIENT SUCCESS amp; PRODUCT INNOVATION

  • Work closely with our Client Services team and others to support account growth by maintaining a comprehensive understanding of clients, ideating new offerings to align with client needs, and contributing to the development of proposals, estimates, and pitches for new work.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including our teams of historians, archivists, database experts, etc. to optimize service delivery and collaborate closely with client services teams to communicate project progress and pursue account growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, coursework in history, preservation, or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum eight (8) years’ experience leading creative projects or as a manager of creative teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines simultaneously, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team as well as lead through influence, without direct authority.
