General Summary

As Licensing Administrator you will be responsible for licensing content to and from third parties and processing third party royalties.

You are a continuous learner with a hunger for knowledge. You approach challenges as opportunities to improve. You value team members’ input from all levels and you actively seek ways to support your colleagues.

You will sit directly with the Alfred Business Affairs, work in close collaboration with Alfred Royalties, Alfred Sales and Customer Service, and report to the Manager, Business Affairs.

Core Functions

  • Receive and process, 3rd party license requests
    • lyric/music reprints
    • arrangement licenses
    • photocopies and festival permissions
    • sub-publishing rights
  • Receive and process 3rd party permissions royalty payments
  • Licensing revenue data analysis
  • SmartMusic licensing processing
  • Copyright and PRO Registration - Performance Rights Organization
  • Copyright claim and publisher research
  • Training and supervision of departmental intern
  • Maintains and relationships with Alfred Music licensed catalogs.
  • Copyright enforcement, including DMCA/Cease and Desist communications
    • Digital Millennium Copywrite Act
  • Maintain Royalty Database [copywrite notices, publisher spits - who has what percentage of a song, proprietary internal system]
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Foundational computer skills including MS Office and G Suite Programs
    • Outlook, internal intranet
  • Detail-oriented and accurate with respect to contracts and licensing documents
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal:
    • Must be able to discern text and images via electronic equipment;
    • Ability to remain stationary at workstation for several hours regularly

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of:
    • Basic knowledge of copyright and licensing as it pertains to the music industry
    • General music information and concepts
    • General business affairs practices and procedures
    • Performing Rights Organizations, Mechanical Licensing Collectives and Publishers

Compensation

Peaksware/Alfred Music is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The hourly range for this role in Colorado is $18.58 - $30.96. This position is also remote-friendly and, as such, compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.

This role is eligible for variable compensation including bonus.
