Job Description

The Vice President Operations will be responsible for developing the optimal organization structure for the Entertainment amp; Marketer Payroll and Payments business units and be accountable for the day-to-day performance of the teams and responsible for maintaining and driving operational objectives consistent with the business unit and corporate goals. This role executes overall vision, direction, strategy and leadership to ensure Spotlight has appropriate polices, processes and people in place to effectively grow, while ensuring financial stability and operating efficiency. The role will provide day-to-day leadership and management to a service organization that mirrors the adopted mission and core values of XR, while ensuring profitability and stakeholder value.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assess operational organization from implementation, to processing, to client service to support; Define optimal on-shore and off-shore structure.
  • Drive continuous operational improvement through process reengineering, organizational design and system tools and support.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization.
  • Build, motivate and lead a high-performance team; attract, recruit and retain required members of the executive team not currently in place; provide mentoring as a cornerstone to the management career development program. Define clear roles and responsibilities to ensure operational delivery and scalability.
  • Ensure proper disciplines are in place to manage monthly expenses at or below target levels, while tracking any approved overages.Complete updated department expense forecasts, and financial analysis for new business proposals as needed. Continuously look for opportunities to enhance or create new internal processes and systems to improve customer satisfaction, customer automation, and decrease costs.
  • Manage and identify key partners that will enhance, accelerate, and scale delivery to customers.
  • Build and account management servicing model which retains, minimizes margin erosion, and grows the existing customer account base through new sales and growth of existing product utilization.
  • Map existing and future processes that make the best use of existing resources and allows for future resource planning in both near and offshore operations.
  • Set comprehensive short-term (in-year) and long-term (3 year) KPIs for operational performance and growth.
  • Collaborate closely with the development and product teams to align technology solutions for the Operations organization.
  • Participate in growth initiatives (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances etc.).
  • Perform other projects or duties as assigned.

*Pursuant to California's Pay Transparency Law the pay range for this position is $210,000 - $230,000; base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Requirements

  • BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; MSc/MBA a plus.
  • 10-15 years of progressive operational leadership and change management experience and a proven track record of leading minimally a $30M+ organization’s service-based operations function (implementation, account management, customer service, and vendor enrollment) focused on delivering sustainable results.
  • Preferably led large payments/payroll processing unit, including implementation, technology, client service, and account management.
  • Strong sense of service and passion; thrives on change, pace, action and accountability.
  • Scaled an organization to meet growing demand.
  • General understanding of all business functions such as HR, Finance, Marketing, Product, etc.
  • Experience with payroll and broader HCM technology critical.
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reporting Relationship

  • Reports to the President, Spotlight.

Location

  • Onsite in Los Angeles office or hybrid, with some travel.
