Job Description

Job Expectations:

• This position reports to the General Manager/Dealer Principal

• Meet established personal sales goals

o Minimum dollar average of sales per hour and per ticket

o Minimum average of line items per sales ticket and tickets per hour

• Increase sales and develop prospects by following established processes and methods o Use suggestive selling techniques to upsell

o Make outbound contacts each day to new Major Unit and Large Sales customers as assigned by the manager. A contact is defined primarily as an outbound call, but may include outbound email contact, that results in a conversation with the prospect. o Contact customers and prospects about new merchandise

o Contact customers about fittings

o Contact customers about upcoming sales and events

• Maintain an average of four greets per hour. A greet is defined as engaging someone in a conversation about merchandise.

• Actively assist in stocking, straightening, and merchandising the department • Ensure customer data is complete, accurate, and updated in Lightspeed system o Verify existing data; update or add new data; always ask for the customer’s email address • Strong leadership skills

• Strong sales and sales management skills

• Experience with retail sales and inventory management.

• Previous experience in developing and coaching a high-performance sales team • Knowledge and experience with servicing of Harley-Davidson General Merchandise, and other products sold by the dealership, or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn them. • Strong skills in customer resolution/satisfaction

• Ensure General Merchandise personnel are well trained and available when needed • Design displays for merchandise, which are appealing to customers.

• Regulate seasonal promotions (i.e. holiday display themes, fashion shows, special events, etc.) and coordinate them with other departments.

• Review all stock orders to ensure a fast-moving balanced inventory of general merchandise. Coordinate orders with Parts amp; Accessories Manager, if possible.

• Maintain sufficient quantities of stock to support demand and acceptable inventory turn ratio. • Assist staff when needed.

• Become familiar and efficient with all phases of the computer system required for general merchandise management, including generating and reviewing Inventory reports • Supervise and maintain an accurate up-to-date inventory management amp; control system • Establish procedures for ordering, receiving, logging into inventory, displaying, selling and restocking all merchandise

• Ensure employees keep all merchandise and displays clean, well dusted, and appealing to customers

• Set-up and maintain a smooth running, efficient, appealing retail environment for the Motorclothes department.

• Purchase product assortments, gauge stock movement, and devise promotions, when necessary • The employee will be evaluated at the end of each month during the probationary period to determine if the above criteria have been met. If not, management will determine what future action will be taken.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Establish departmental work schedule, balancing the workloads of all employees. • Establish job assignments and sales quotas for all Motorclothes personnel within their skill level. • Manage employee performance (evaluate and counsel).

• Maintain records of all employee performance reviews

• Provide training for all Motorclothes employees:

o Harley-Davidson University Programs

o Dealer Shows amp; Expo’s

o P.A.C.E. tapes and field training
