Softheon is looking to expand our AI-focused software team by bringing on a Sr. Software Engineer utilizing Python, who will focus on the backend implementation of new and existing user features, with leadership qualities to develop and maintain applications that improve healthcare access for millions of people. In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize scalable software solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience with relevant technologies, effective communication abilities, and a proven ability to guide and mentor junior team members. The team works on products that assist health insurance plans in automating and improving their existing workflows and offerings. The role will be working on a team that is focused on using the latest AI technologies such as LLMs and various ML models.

Requirements

• Design and present new user features using diagrams, documentation, and requirements as well as maintain and improve existing features
• Implement user features by writing clear and concise API, algorithm, unit test, and integration test code with a focus on scalability and maintainability
• Guide AI applications through the full development cycle from data pre-processing to model training and feature engineering
• Review code and provide feedback to ensure code is accurate, readable, scalable, efficient, and tested
• Collaborate with members of our team or other teams to both learn and share knowledge
• Determine process improvements, refine and estimate upcoming work, and plan sprints through regular Agile ceremonies with the team

• Minimum of 3 - 5 years working with Python or similar language
• 2+ year writing APIs
• Expert working with APIs and API design patterns
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starting attitude, and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Experience writing unit and integration tests
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design principles, data modeling and persistence, performance, and how to code efficient algorithms at scale
• Experience working in Microsoft Azure and/or other cloud computing platforms
• Experience building and deploying Docker containers

• Experience working with large datasets and ETL pipelines
• Experience building and deploying pipelines
• Experience implementing data science or other computationally complex algorithms
• Experience working with PySpark/Spark

Salary - $135,000 - $155,000
