As a New Home Consultant, you are the trusted advisor to our customers during their homebuying journey. Every customer’s dream of owning a home is made a reality with you by their side, selling product features, floorplans, designs and benefits to fit their specific wants and needs. You are the expert on our inventory and homebuilding process and effective problem solver if and when issues arise. You recognize it takes a village to make a house a home and work internally with every team member involved in the homebuilding process to ensure our customers are satisfied every step of the way.

  • You will effectively generate sales by utilizing various resources including but not limited to: corporate marketing materials, model homes, local resources and realtor relationships. You will generate interest for our products by showing the community, lots and touring model homes to prospects and realtors, as well as participate in local events or sales organizations and visit realtors’ offices and brokerages, as well as leveraging digital and social media efforts, to generate traffic.
  • Maintaining our industry leading status is important to M/I Homes, therefore you will be proactive in educating yourself on market trends, best practices and comparatively shop products of competitors by visiting those operating in your same geographical areas.
  • You will build confidence with our potential home buyers by identifying their needs and matching related features and benefits of M/I Homes products and experience to include:
    • M/I Homes history, culture and core values
    • Confidence Builder program
    • Advantages related to the community and division
    • Financing programs tailored to buyers’ needs
    • Presenting micro community attributes, as well as macro area attributes, in an effective manner
    • Understanding and communicating the uniqueness of community home sites
  • You will serve as an advisor and primary point of contact for our home buyers from the initial meeting through the home closing process. You will provide a realistic and satisfactory experience by proactively communicating from start to finish, using listening and negotiating skills when confronted with objections, skepticism, conflict, etc. and countering with specific alternatives to meet the home buyer’s needs. You will accompany the home buyers to the buyer builder conference, pre-closing walk through events, and show lots and homes under construction.
  • As a member of the broader M/I Homes division team, you will attend reoccurring division meetings and work cross functionally to communicate appropriate information to other teams involved in the homebuilding process. This will include meeting with the construction team to check on the status of homes under construction and discussing any potential issues that have arisen.
  • You will work to ensure our communities are consistently representing M/I Homes brand positively by driving/walking through the community to check on appearance, signage, and the maintenance status of homes.
  • You will utilize the systems designed to assist you with optimizing information flow such as CFT(Pivotal) and e-mail.

Requirements

Associate’s degree or equivalent in specialized training with relevant course study in sales and marketing techniques and one to five years of related experience and/or training; thorough knowledge of housing market in geographical locations. Real Estate license required.

  • You have the ability to interpret, analyze, and evaluate given information relative to selling techniques and potential homebuyer issues.
