Job Description

Our valued client, a leading company in the bakery food processing and packaging equipment industry, is currently seeking a highly skilled Regional Sales Manager to take charge of operations in the West Region. This important role welcomes applications from candidates based in any major city west of the Mississippi River, as long as they are close to a major airport. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to combine traditional and modern sales methods in the dynamic field of bakery equipment sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Process Management: In this role, you will have the exciting responsibility of effectively selling our client's exceptional products and services within a specific geographical region. Your key tasks will involve proactively identifying potential customers, providing accurate reports and quotes, and skillfully closing deals to not only meet but also exceed ambitious sales targets.
  • Customer Engagement: A crucial aspect of this position is understanding the unique needs of customers in the bakery market. By adopting a consultative customer service approach, you will have the opportunity to offer personalized solutions that foster long-term, value-driven relationships.
  • Collaboration and Reporting: You will work closely with our Sales Administration team to support and enhance the overall sales process. Leveraging various company resources, including marketing tools and cutting-edge demonstration facilities, you will effectively engage with prospects. Additionally, maintaining accurate and up-to-date CRM data will be part of your responsibility.
  • Market Analysis: Taking a proactive approach, you will actively monitor and report on competitive activity within your assigned territory and the broader industry.
  • Professional Development: As directed, attending trade shows, sales meetings, and industry events will be important for your continuous growth. By doing so, you will remain updated on the latest trends in the industry and learn valuable sales techniques to further hone your skills.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience: We require candidates to have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four years of relevant experience. This should include at least three years of sales experience in capital equipment, packaging materials, or other industry-related goods. If you have experience specifically with bakery capital equipment, that would be highly preferred.
  • Technical and Mechanical Aptitude: The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in both traditional and modern bakery production processes.
  • Strong Sales Background: We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record in consultative sales and exceptional customer service. Previous experience in selling capital equipment or related goods in the bakery industry is preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential for this role.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry trends, competitors, and experience utilizing CRM tools is required.
  • Travel: This position requires up to 80% travel. The remaining time will be spent in the office for preparation and follow-up tasks. The candidate should have a flexible schedule to accommodate customer needs and various industry events.
  • Residence Proximity: Candidates must reside within a maximum one-hour commute of a major airport.
  • Other: A valid driver's license is necessary for this position. Additionally, the ability to obtain a passport for international travel is required.

This role does not entail supervisory responsibilities but does require the associate to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Exposure to work near moving mechanical parts and occasional loud noise levels may occur.
