Seasoned Recruitment is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced professional for the position of Director of Pharmacy. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the pharmacy department, including strategic planning, budgeting, staffing, and quality assurance. The successful candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy practice, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for providing high-quality pharmaceutical services.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans and goals for the pharmacy department in alignment with the organization's overall objectives.
- Manage pharmacy operations, including medication procurement, dispensing, compounding, and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards related to pharmacy practice.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of pharmacy staff.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to promote interdisciplinary care and patient safety.
- Develop and monitor pharmacy budgets, including expense control and revenue optimization.
- Implement and maintain quality improvement initiatives to enhance medication safety and patient outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date on current trends and advancements in pharmacy practice, and integrate evidence-based practices into departmental operations.
- Participate in interdisciplinary committees and teams, providing pharmacy expertise and contributing to organizational decision-making.
- Represent the pharmacy department in interactions with external stakeholders, such as regulatory agencies, suppliers, and professional organizations.
Requirements
- PharmD degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Current state pharmacy license.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmacy hospital, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards of practice.
- Proven track record in strategic planning, budgeting, and staff management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions and solve problems effectively.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement and patient safety.
- Proficiency in pharmacy software and other relevant technology.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
