Under the leadership of the Senior Vice President of Operations, the Global Logistics amp; Operations Leader will be responsible for supervising and directing all logistics operations. This role requires ensuring the continual delivery of exceptional service, achieving high levels of customer satisfaction, implementing cost-effective strategies, and adhering to company policies and procedures. Proficiency in freight compliance laws, regulations, and operational procedures, both domestically and internationally, is of utmost importance.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a Logistics operation to guarantee the team delivers high-quality service and customer satisfaction while upholding profitability and efficiency according to company standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with carriers through effective communication and negotiations to improve cost-effectiveness and the company's competitive advantage.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews to track progress and ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Coordinate inbound freight scheduling and communication among manufacturers, customers, and carriers, establishing clear expectations for accountability and success.
- Supervise administrative functions related to logistics, including accounts payable processing, claims filing, and customer tracking, to ensure prompt and accurate outcomes.
- Create the annual fiscal budget for freight and oversee invoicing for third-party logistics clients.
- Foster team performance through mentoring, stretch assignments, training opportunities, and talent development initiatives.
- Stay abreast of emerging compliance changes and innovations through continuous learning and networking.
- Perform transportation analysis to assess metrics, facilitate negotiations, and enhance network optimization.
- Lead the implementation of freight programs globally in line with company strategy, driving ongoing improvement.
Requirements
- Willing to work onsite at our client's Louisville, Kentucky location.
- At least 5 years of experience in domestic transportation management or a related field, with a preference for those with intermodal experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Familiarity with national and international import/export regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in annual budget development and management.
- Knowledge of freight laws and compliance requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills, with a focus on planning and problem-solving.
