Valard Construction USA is a premier utility contractor based out of the US and part of the Quanta Group, the largest electrical power contractor in North America. Valard has full-service capabilities for transmission, distribution, substations, foundations, telecommunications, and renewable energy. Valard Construction USA is a non-union US contractor.
Valard Construction LLC is seeking a qualified Billing Specialist to join our US Operations team. We are looking for a self-motivated, team player, dedicated individual who is willing to work as part of a dynamic team that provides crucial support to Valard’s projects. The Billing Specialist will be based out of our Charlotte, NC office.
The Billing Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate and efficient handling of client billing and work order management. Their responsibilities will encompass various aspects of financial data management, client interactions, and the utilization of the IBM Maximo system.
Requirements
- Manage work orders through the IBM Maximo system and taking ownership of communicating with the field as needed to close out work orders.
- Communicate with the field to ensure the proper management of work orders and work processes.
- Prepare and review client invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual terms.
- Maintain billing records, client information, and financial data in an organized and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with the management team to resolve billing issues promptly.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to create invoices and billing reports.
- Communicate directly with clients regarding billing inquiries.
- Ensure all billing processes are completed within established deadlines.
- Assist in the development and improvement of billing procedures and processes.
- Other special projects as assigned for the US business unit.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Prior experience with the IBM Maximo system is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Prior work-related experience in billing or a similar financial role is required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
- Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines, can work independently and in a team environment, ability to manage short-term and long-term deadlines.
- Confidently able to communicate effectively with varied audiences in office or field, internal and external.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Problem solving and proactive, forward-looking mindset to seek out problems to solve.
