ROLE SUMMARY:

The Director of Payroll is an essential member of the Finance team and is responsible for maintaining the payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. This employee will also ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Director of Payroll will perform various functions in ensuring effective and efficient payroll processing, including garnishments, benefits, and consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.
  • Processes payroll changes including new hires, terminations, promotions, FTE changes, PTO accruals, leaves of absence under FMLA or other unpaid leave, merit increases, benefit deductions, 401(k) and other compensation adjustments.
  • Perform Daily system checks to identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Supervisors Payroll Specialist and provides growth and development opportunities.
  • Create and run audit reports surrounding payroll and year-end processing.
  • Audit W-2’s, payroll balance sheets, YTD earnings, etc.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Completes monthly, quarterly, and yearly tax audits and filings.
  • Research payroll regulatory changes and implement updates accordingly.

JOB TYPE:Full-time

SHIFT:Monday Friday 8am- 4pm

HOURLY RATE:$75,000-$85,000 Salary (Exempt)

This position is benefit eligible and has generous time off.

Requirements

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years direct payroll experience with high employee volume and complex pay rules
  • HRIS Payroll and Timekeeping systems experience required (UKG Pro a plus)
  • Proficient knowledge in MS Office applications
  • Strong math and analytical skills

*All hires must possess a valid NYS Driver’s License at the time of hire.
