Job Description

The Branch Claims Representative II investigates, assemble facts, evaluate the amount of loss, and analyze the legal liability to pay or deny those losses. This job will actively engage in subrogation efforts to maximize recovery and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. Work is performed under limited supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and efficiently handle a large caseload of subrogation claims within a dynamic work environment.
  • Thoroughly assess and evaluate all assigned claims to identify opportunities for subrogation and ensure proper investigation procedures are followed.
  • Initiate communication with responsible parties, notifying them of the intent to recover funds and diligently follow up to facilitate the successful recovery process.
  • Focus on the primary responsibility of managing auto claims, however, versatility with homeowner and commercial would provide additional value
  • Assemble facts, determine coverage, evaluate the amount of loss, and analyze legal liability.
  • Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms and apply coverage analysis skills.
  • Demonstrate proficient knowledge of claim handling procedures and skills in claim negotiations and settlements.
  • Deliver a high level of customer service to agents, insureds, and others.
  • Obtain and maintain appropriate adjuster’s license(s) as required.
  • Handle claims activities and investigations by phone, mail, and occasional on-site investigations.
  • Use technology-based information for reference, enter information into computer systems, and apply specialized skills, including but not limited to property estimating, auto estimating, and use of computer-based programs as tools.
  • Utilize experience to devise alternative approaches to providing service, dependent upon the circumstances.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or several years of experience or training that the Company considers sufficiently related; or the equivalent combination of education and such related experience is required
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a Branch Claims Representative 1 or a minimum of three years of insurance claims experience is required
  • Ability to understand verbal and/or written instructions and to carry tasks to completion.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing Arbitration Forums, specifically EHub filing and TRS
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Proficient in Excel and PC Windows environment
  • Ability to work together in a team setting on shared tasks
  • Ability amp; desire to obtain a Pamp;C Adjuster license
