Position Title: Marine Corps Network Efficiency Laboratory (MCNEL) Engineer
Location: Camp Pendleton, CA
Position Type: Full-time
Salary Range: $125,000 - $130,000
Security Clearance Requirement: Position requires active security clearance
Certification Requirements:
- CompTIA Security+
Years of Experience: 5 - 8 years
Roles and Responsibilities:
Marine Corps Network Efficiency Laboratory (MCNEL) is established to provide a lab environment to conduct technical assessments and evaluate emerging/future technology. MCNEL engineers serve as a think tank for network optimization and deep network analysis in support of Programs of Record, in this case, Global Combat Support System Marine (GCSS-MC). GCSS-MC provides Marines with a single point of entry for requests associated with orders, parts, products, manuals, services, and accurate information through the logistics supply chain.
- Support network traffic analysis
- Troubleshoot LAN/WAN issues
- Support: test events, capacity planning, data storage, proof of concepts, research and development, patching, IOS upgrades, WAN emulation, WAN optimization, network simulation, and vendor evaluations to include report completion as required by Government Customer.
Education:
- Certification listed above accepted in lieu of higher education: And
- Experience equal to degree level
Preferred Certification(s):
- CCIE
- CCNP
Requirements
- TRAVEL REQUIRED FOR POSITION - Must be able to obtain or possess a valid US Passport and be physically qualified to support military exercises and contingency operations.

- Experience supporting Marine Corps C4I systems and equipment.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in military training and education.
- Direct participation in real-world operations is desired.
- Strong active listening, data entry, and documentation skills.
- Willing to work in a 24x7x365 secured environment, demonstrate intuitive problem-solving skills, and allow for flexible scheduling.
