Job Summary

The Strategist partners with other members of Momentum’s team to develop compelling, long-term strategies to achieve our clients’ critical goals. Strategists are responsible for producing written content, including Federal and State grant proposals for clients.

We are currently seeking candidates who have experience and expertise in the following fields:

  • Transportation Electrification: Electric and/or Hydrogen Vehicles (on-road and off-road)
  • Industrial Decarbonization: Using Hydrogen, Biofuels, and/or Carbon Capture and Sequestration
  • Low-and Zero-Carbon Fuel Production: Hydrogen and/or Biofuels
  • Energy Management: Including Distributed Energy Resources and Microgrids
  • Electric Utilities: Generation, Transmission, and Storage
  • Port Technology: Shipping Equipment, Off-road Equipment, Vessels

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Writes a variety of technical documents, primarily grant proposals as well as, campaign plans, concept papers, reports, and presentations.
  • Researches, identifies, and evaluates public funding opportunities to present directly to clients.
  • Supports Momentum’s business development activities.
  • Socializes clients’ projects to relevant agencies.
  • Interfaces with clients on complex and rigorous projects.
  • Builds Momentum’s network of experts in the cleantech field.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • None.

Reporting Relationship

  • OurStrategistsreport to the Manager of Product Delivery.

Location

This is a remote eligible position but may require occasional travel to Sacramento and various project sites throughout California, and the U.S. Training and onboarding are carried out in person at our Sacramento office.

Requirements

Desired Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with writing grant proposals.
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication, tailored appropriately to numerous key stakeholders both inside and outside of the organization.
  • The ability to read, understand, analyze, and interpret highly complex materials and to extract and coordinate relevant information for proposals, reports, etc.
  • A high capacity for managing multiple initiatives, projects, and clients simultaneously, often under considerable time pressure.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills supporting the development and roll-out of existing and new services offered by the company.
  • A passion for renewable energy, alternative transportation, and clean tech.
  • Flexible performer guided by insight and experience; can see nuance and critical aspects of situations; requires limited oversight and consultation to be successful.

Desired Education and Experience

  • 4+ years of professional working experience in sustainability/clean tech.
  • Subject matter expertise in one of our primary areas of consulting.

Salary Range

$110,000 - $135,000 + Bonus. At Momentum, it is typical for an individual to be hired at the lower end of the range for their role, however candidates with highly relevant experience, education, and skill level may be considered for higher compensation.
