Job Description

Control Risks is looking for a Security Manager to assist a Fortune 500 Client develop and implement security and mitigation measures to safeguard the company's people and assets as they participate in the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.

This role can be remote but requires the candidate be able to travel to Atlanta up to 3 times a month.

This role is looking to start no later than April 1, 2024 and will conclude at the end of August 2024.

Role tasks and responsibilities:

  • Review, develop, and improve the client’s security, emergency, and contingency plans for the event.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure alignment of security objectives and priorities.
  • Lead the planning and execution of a series of tabletop exercises to test the organization's readiness to respond to security threats and emergencies.
  • Develop mitigation matrix for a series of potential events surrounding the Olympic Games in Paris.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain emergency response plans and protocols.
  • Monitor security trends and developments to stay abreast of emerging threats and best practices in security management.
  • Serve as a liaison with law enforcement agencies, government officials, and other relevant entities on security related matters.
  • Travel with the emergency and crisis management teams to the event and provide on the ground support for their security team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration) required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in security management, with a focus on physical security, crisis management, and risk assessment.
  • Experience working in high-profile or major events security is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in running large-scale tabletop exercises and developing emergency response plans.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey complex security concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards governing security practices, including but not limited to ISO 27001, NIST, and DHS guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing demands effectively.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or equivalent, preferred.

The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $65,000 USD for the 6-month position.
