DreamHack Dallas is held May 31 - June 02, 2024 at Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Centre, Dallas, Texas.

We are looking for a Cosplay Lead to assist the DreamHack Dallas Product Manager of Community amp; Associations in all products, with a focus on cosplay.

This is a temporary position for a period of approximately 3 months, from 1st of March to June 14th, as your role will be focused on our DreamHack event taking place in Dallas, May 31- June 2,2024.

What you'll do

Pre-Event

  • Post 3x times a week on DHCosplay Twitter and DreamHackCosplay Instagram accounts (these can be identical posts, no need to double up on work!);
  • Share a couple posts to IG stories from different cosplay groups, our cosplay guests, our judges, our competitors etc;
  • Feel free to reach out to accepted competitors to post / highlight them as being accepted for the competition coordinated with marketing;
  • Answer DMs 1x a week on each Cosplay social media account related to DreamHack Atlanta Cosplay;
  • Announce cosplay guests amp; judges on DreamHack Cosplay accounts, working with Joana on timing and coordinating with guests;
  • Accept cosplayers for pre-registration based on accepting a variety of skill levels, confirming they are legitimate cosplayers (and not just after a free ticket) and have a good reputation for following the rules!
  • Communicate with competing Cosplayers to answer questions and confirm competition schedule;
  • Communicate with Cosplay guests to coordinate load in, set up, logistics questions;
  • Communicate with Cosplay crew to set schedule and handle basic training;
  • Able to communicate and work with all product managers when needed;
  • Assist in creating, producing, and running a cosplay Drag Show;
  • Assist in product sorting through guest (cosplay) submissions;
  • Assist in product sorting through cosplay competition submissions;
  • Assist in executing communication from acceptance through completed of competition;
  • Assist in planning and curating meet-ups for cosplay AND other communities;
  • Assist in curating cosplay parade;
  • Assist in creation of Cosplay Corner, longe, and meet amp; greets;
  • Including meet amp; greet schedules for cosplayers;
  • Assist in various other needs for other Camp;A products;

During Event

  • Manage Cosplay Crew;
  • Assist cosplay guests and judges with logistics, food vouchers etc;
  • Ensure all cosplay activations run smoothly;
  • Ensure Cosplay Championship runs smoothly;
  • Help run and product Cosplay Drag Show;
  • Make use of Cosplay crew to assist with Cosplay themed workshops and panels;
  • Ensure a safe and supportive cosplay lounge for all attending cosplayers, guests, and handlers;
  • Assist in various needs for other Camp;A products as needed;

What you'll need

  • 3+ years of cosplay events knowledge (preferably cosplay competitions and general event knowledge);
  • Experience working fast-paces events;
  • Knowledgeable about Dallas cosplay community, and well connected in that community;
  • Experience working with hired talent, guests, judges;
  • Ability to manage staff under pressure, and communicate with all stakeholders effectively;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Passionate for cosplay, gaming, and pop-culture;

Benefits

Temporary position for our DreamHack event in Dallas;

Paymentrate $6,000 - $8k000/contract/event
