Job Description

The Account Manager role holds a crucial position in our client's organization, reporting directly to the Sales Director. Our client specializes in manufacturing and distributing custom packaging solutions tailored for the Retail, Health Care, and Food markets. With a focus on producing custom thermoformed trays, clamshells, blisters, graphic cards, and state-of-the-art heat-seal equipment, our client is committed to providing innovative solutions that meet the diverse needs of its customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively search for new business opportunities to drive profitable growth by leveraging marketing leads, cold calls, and other sources.
  • Identify potential opportunities and conduct thorough market analysis within the designated territory, analyzing customer needs, pricing models, and input from manufacturing.
  • Persistently pursue and follow up on leads to foster the development and securement of new business opportunities.
  • Create and deliver engaging product demonstrations and technical presentations, actively participating in trade show activities.
  • Cultivate key relationships with existing customers and prospects at all organizational levels.
  • Proactively manage customer projects to ensure a comprehensive understanding of their needs and successful outcomes, including advocating for product development activities and conducting plant trials when necessary.
  • Efficiently collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and foster business growth.
  • Develop and implement strategic account and territory plans to increase sales, engaging various customer decision-makers. Effectively handle all administrative aspects of the sales role, such as quoting, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Maintain an updated and accurate sales funnel through the use of CRM and develop a Margin Improvement funnel. Manage territory travel arrangements for optimal customer interaction while adhering to budget constraints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the packaging industry, preferably specializing in thermoforming.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the key factors within the packaging industry and a proven ability to develop effective product and price positioning strategies that drive growth and increase profitability.
  • A demonstrated track record of acquiring new customers and expanding market share among existing customers.
  • Proficiency in implementing value-based comparative selling strategies and building strong relationships at a corporate level.
  • Strong analytical skills to understand and address profitability drivers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including adeptness in negotiation and presentation.
  • Frequent travel will be required.
