Job Description
Our client is a renowned leader in the capital equipment industry, dedicated to delivering the latest innovations and exceptional services. In their pursuit of excellence, they are currently looking for a highly skilled individual to take on the position of IT Director for their U.S. operations. This role involves traveling up to 15%, which may include international trips. The standard working hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with the flexibility required to accommodate the schedules of both internal and external clients. This pivotal role entails overseeing the entire Information Technology Department and developing strategic technology systems for U.S. operations, including managing the local SAP IT Application support team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaboration and Strategy Development: Work closely with the client's headquarters in Germany to effectively align IT strategies with the technology needs in the United States.
- Team Support and Guidance: Provide comprehensive support and guidance to the SAP IT Applications support team, ensuring optimal performance and productivity.
- Communication Strategy Leadership: Develop and implement strong IT communication strategies to promote transparency and alignment throughout the organization.
- Project Management and Resource Allocation: Efficiently manage, direct, and allocate resources for various IT projects, ensuring they align with organizational goals and objectives.
- Analytical Problem-Solving: Analyze complex business needs and take the lead in implementing innovative technical solutions to effectively address them.
- Digitalization Initiatives: Lead internal digitalization initiatives to improve workflow efficiency and cultivate a modern work environment.
- Technology Oversight: Ensure the effectiveness of technology applications and assess their performance against established goals.
- Compliance and Security: Enforce compliance with global IT standards, policies, and systems to support corporate strategies and goals, while also safeguarding information integrity and network security.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost-effectiveness.
- Additional Responsibilities: Fulfill any other assigned duties to contribute to the smooth functioning of the IT department and the organization as a whole.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Ten years of experience in leading IT strategy and operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with the capacity to interpret technical instructions and documents.
- Proficiency in computer networks, network security, hardware and software applications, and technology application development and implementation.
- Preferable experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP.
- A current valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a passport for travel as required.
- A willingness to work in the Kansas City corporate office from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Flexibility to travel occasionally, up to 15%, including international travel.
- The capability to assess current systems, identify key needs, strategize digital improvements, prioritize effectively, and lead implementation.
- Prior experience collaborating with global teams and understanding larger business needs while also questioning recommendations and requests from the parent company.
