Our Quality Distribution team is focused on these connective experiences and we are seeking an experienced Product Manager, Recommendations who will lead our efforts to build a world-class recommendations system that delivers high quality stories to users based on their explicit and implicit interests.What you will do:
- Drive execution of the product and technical roadmap for the recommendations team
- Proactively look for opportunities to improve recommendations across different surfaces at Medium
- Coordinate with various stakeholders across the company including leadership, product, engineering, and data science teams to ship new features that align with business goals and company mission
- Identify opportunities to advocate for and incorporate core distribution product decisions that bring value to the recommendations system
- Develop a high-level understanding of our technical stacks: backend, machine-learning, databases and work with engineers to make important technical decisions
- Drive discussions and planning around machine-learning model development, recommendation system components and features
Who are you?
- At least 3 years of experience working in Product Management with hands on experience with consumer products
- Experience as a software and/or machine-learning engineer working on the technical implementation of production services
- Experience working on ML-based recommendation algorithms including feed generation, personalization, relevance targeting
- Deep understanding of platforms that include user-generated content and social interactions
- Strong track record of successfully leading and delivering complex product initiatives
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making, with SQL experience and the ability to write your own queries to pull the data you need
- Passion for creating exceptional user experiences and driving customer satisfaction
- Bachelors degree in computer science or related field

This is a fully remote position and you can be based anywhere within the U.S. EST working hours are preferred as the team is distributed across the U.S. and France.
The compensation range for this position is between $190k-$251,257k per year base salary + equity and benefits, and is dependent on years and depth of experience.
